Appel à contributions : 1st conference of the European Association for Asian Art and Archaeology

Dear colleagues,

The board of the European Association for Asian Art and Archaeology is pleased to announce the establishment of the EUROPEAN ASSOCIATION FOR ASIAN ART AND ARCHAEOLOGY – EAAA.

The association shall:

  • encourage and advance all academic and scholarly activities related to Asian Art and Archaeology in all countries of Europe;
  •  strive for creating and maintaining a platform for a fruitful exchange of ideas;
  • open a dialogue between scholars of Asian art history;
  • offer a platform for the presentation and discussion of recent research.


The purpose of the EAAA shall be achieved through the following activities:

  • organization of regular biennial conferences;
  • organization of seminars, thematic conferences, workshops, symposia, study events, lectures;
  • different ways of support of young scholars;
  • publication projects;
  • exhibition projects;
  • promote contacts and cooperation between scholars and students conducting research in and teaching Asian art and archaeology;
  • facilitate cooperation with other organizations having similar aims;
  • disseminate any kind of information and resources related to Asian art and archaeology.

Deadline for submissions: November 15, 2013

Notification of acceptance: February 28, 2014
