Exposition : The Power and Pleasure of Possessions in Korean Painted Screens

Exposition : The Power and Pleasure of Possessions in Korean Painted Screens

Spencer Museum of Art, The University of Kansas

15 avril – 11 juin 2017

The Power and Pleasure of Possessions in Korean Painted Screens is organized by the Seoul-based Korea Foundation and features large-scale folding screens of still-life painting known as chaekgeori. These intricate, hand-painted works of art would typically have been found in study rooms of Korean homes and depict books and other objects that convey the great value that Korean people place on the acquisition of knowledge. The Spencer Museum is one of only three U.S. venues to host this exhibition.
